Field sales
Prepare for a visit in minutes and show the customer's range live, on a laptop or tablet.
Your reps see their customers, and for each customer exactly the products in that customer's agreement. They export a tailored PDF or XLSX in one click and send the customer a read-only link to browse on their own — always from current, governed product data.
The Sales Portal ships in 2026.
The meeting is on Thursday. Marketing needs two days for the customer's catalog. The rep takes last year's PDF.
01 · Who uses it
Prepare for a visit in minutes and show the customer's range live, on a laptop or tablet.
Keep exclusive ranges and agreement-specific catalogs for their accounts in one place.
Send a customer the right product sheet while they are still on the phone.
Receives a tailored catalog or a read-only link to their own range — no login needed to read it.
02 · The journey
Five moments in a customer relationship where reps need product data — and what changes when the catalog follows the agreement.
01 · PREPARE
Gather product information for an upcoming customer meeting.
Before
Shared drives, outdated PDFs, asking colleagues for current specs.
With PIM Gate
A customer-scoped view: only the products in that customer's agreement, in their language and market.
02 · PRESENT
Show products live during the meeting.
Before
A static PDF deck, out of date before the meeting starts.
With PIM Gate
The customer's range browsable live on laptop or tablet. Planned: a presentation mode for full-screen use in front of the customer.
03 · EXPORT
Send a tailored product sheet or catalog after the meeting.
Before
Marketing produces a bespoke PDF on request — two days later.
With PIM Gate
One-click customer-specific PDF or XLSX from the customer's view or a selection.
04 · SHARE
Let the customer browse their range on their own.
Before
Only possible with a full portal login — and no scoping.
With PIM Gate
A read-only link scoped to the customer's agreement.
05 · FOLLOW UP
See what the customer looked at or downloaded.
Before
No visibility; follow-up is a guess.
With PIM Gate
Planned: an activity log per customer link — views and downloads.
03 · How scoping works
In most portals, a role decides what a user sees. In the Sales Portal, the commercial relationship does: which rep looks after which customer, and which agreement applies. Change the agreement, and every view, export and link follows.
Each rep is mapped to the customers they look after. They never see accounts outside their remit.
Each customer is linked to an agreement that defines their range: product groups, exclusive items, market and language.
The same scope drives the customer view, the PDF / XLSX export and the read-only link.
Assign reps to customers and customers to agreements. Each agreement defines a range — product groups, exclusive items, market and language — built from the same catalog selections and rules used across PIM Gate.
A rep picks a customer and sees that customer's range — nothing outside it, in the customer's language and market. Search, filters and product pages work as in every PIM Gate portal.
From the customer's view or from a selection, a rep exports a branded PDF product sheet or an XLSX list — generated from current data, scoped to the customer's agreement, in the customer's language. Marketing designs the template once; sales uses it every day.
Send a read-only link scoped to the customer's agreement. The customer searches and browses their range on their own time — without a full portal account and without seeing anything outside their agreement.
Two additions are on the roadmap. An activity log per customer link is planned to show reps which products the customer viewed and which files they downloaded. A presentation mode is planned for showing the customer's range full-screen on a tablet during the meeting. Today, reps present from the responsive portal.
With PIM Gate Commerce, prices, customer-specific prices and availability from SAP / ERP are planned to appear next to the product data — in the Sales Portal as well as in your shop.
